What Have We Installed In Wiltshire?

We have installed most technologies in Wiltshire and have examples of installations which can be viwed by appointment.

Solar thermal or solar heating is one of the most popular and includes installations of evacuated tubes and flat plate panels. All Solar Heating projects come with manufacturers and our own workmanship warranty and use only accredited products. You will find us very competitive on price as well as very honest about solar heating panels return on investment.

Solar Power using photovoltaic panels until recently has been an expensive investment. But with improvements in the money you can get from the power companies for your solar power, plus cheaper prices of the panels AND the governments plans to introduce special tarrifs on top of this, solar power is becoming much more attractive for homes and businesses.

Wind turbines, provided you have a windy spot, have a very attractive return on investment. For similar reasons to solar power above PLUS wind turbines can generate much more electricity from a small space. We have sites you can visit to see and listen to wind turbines and you will be surprised how cost effective and practical they are.

Heat pumps in wiltshire include air source heat pumps currently and soon to be up and running ground source and lake source. We have other sites with the latter ourside the county as we are a national company. All heat pumps offer great return on invesment due to their reduced running costs compared to normal boilers and as fuel prices rises these become even better. Air source has particularly improved with recent innovations using inverters and soft start technology.

Why Choose Freesource Energy?

For Wiltshire clients particularly, because we are locally based, although this does not mean you will not receive the same service from us elsewhere - many technologies do not require an annual service so are not as reliant on our engineers constantly like normal fossil fuel boilers.

We are also very pragmatic and realistic about the products performances. We set up our business several years ago with the aim of improving the publics knowledge in renewable energy and making it easier to apply to homes and businesses - we only supply quality products which are approved and accredited and as part of our on accreditation we have to adhere to strict codes of conduct and professional standards.

We are Real Assurance certified, which requires us to follow strict codes of conduct, we are also Microgeneration certified to offer grants under the low carbon buildings scheme for certain technologies. These codes of assurance and certification are thorough (and to us, expensive to get but worth every penny) which means from your point of view you are getting a properly certified standard of quality. We pride ourselves on quality and on the fact that almost 100% of our work is from recommendations and NOT from advertising.

This installation is of a 5kw wind turbine installed this year. It is on a freestanding tower and connected to the grid.

Planning Permission and Insurance For Wind, Solar or heat pumps.

We recommend you consult the planning department if you are in a conservation area, listed building or AONB for all technologies.

Solar power outside these areas does not require planning permission, but building regs may need to be notified.

Wind and heat pumps may require planning permission and building regs notification.

You should contact your insurer if you choose to go ahead with an installation of any technology.
